My 2019 + Decade Reading Wrap-Up!

Current Read: Tweet Cute

I’m currently reading Tweet Cute by Emma Lord. I’m only about 10% in so I haven’t really formed a stron opinion yet. I feel like I’m warming up to it but I’m not hooked.

Favorite Read: The Kingdom or the second half of the Shatter Me Series

The Kingdom by Jess Rothenburg was such a fun and enjoyable read that gave me Disneyland vibes while also being a completely unique and intriguing story! The second half of the Shatter Me series by Tahereh Mafi was where I really started to enjoy the series and I ended up doing a binge read of all the second half books, which I hadn’t done in quite a while.

Not so Favorite Read: Maybe Not and Somewhere Only We Know

I hated Maybe Not by Colleen Hoover so much I returned it and didn’t finish it. I just could not stand the main character and his actions! Somewhere Only We Know by Maureen Goo was an anticipated release of mine this year but it was a big let down. The male MC was kind of creepy and his motives really irked me throughout the story and especially at the end.

The 2010’s:

Favorite Read: The Selection by Kiera Cass

I mean by now it should be obvious that this is my favorite book of this decade, but also of all time because it still gives me all the feels, all the swoons, and all the joy it did when I first read it years ago.

Favorite Genres: Fantasy and Romance

I’ve been switching between fantasy books and books with some sort of romance this decade. If I feel like I can’t read any more of one, the other is a good break!

Favorite Series: The Selection

Looking Ahead to the 2020’s:

Most Anticipated Reads: The Betrothed and Imagine Me

NEW KIERA CASS IS ALL I NEED TO SAY FOR THE BETROTHED!!!!! As for Imagine Me by Tahereh Mafi, I’m hyped to continue this half of the series that I’ve really enjoyed.

First Reads of the New Year/Decade: Together We Caught Fire, Rogue Princess, and One Day at Disney

The first two are ARCs I need to get to for January and One Day at Disney is a read for fun that I’m excited to pick up!
